Safety Week Celebrations observed at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore from November 27th to December 1st, 2017.

Mr S Ulaganathan, Vice President, SEA India was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Safety Week on November 27, 2017. He advised VIT to include PG Course on Industrial Safety to augment qualified Safety Engineers in India and offered professional support from SEA. Mr P Janarthanam, Joint Secretary, SEA India delivered talk on "Importance & Components of Industrial Safety Measures".

Mr. Kaliannan, Director, Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Govt. of Tamil Nadu was the Chief Guest. Mr. C.G. Ilanahai, Managing Director, Cetex Petro Ltd & Vice President, Manali Industries Association delivered Key Note Address. Dr. S. Sankar, HOD, Environment Health Engineering Dept.Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai delivered Special Address. Special Technical presentations were made by Dr. M. Surianarayanan, Principal Scientist, CISRA, Chennai and Mrs. Lima Peter, Psychologist, Trichy. Large number of SEA Members and invitees participated.

A Factory Visit programme was organized to DLF, IT Park, Manapakkam, Chennai on Saturday, 25th March 2017.

Large number of SEA India members participated in the visit and acquired knowledge on new developments that are being followed in occupational health and safety.

Mr. Nagendra Prasad, General Manager & Unit Head of Chennai Unit extended hearty welcome to the participants and briefed on the Operations.
